Jefferson State Community College and Lucy Lewis hosted the 2019 ASCA State Tournament, and Sharon Daily and Claudette Smith coordinated the event. Other volunteers included current and retired ASCA coaches, Jefferson State Ambassadors and College Bowl team members, and former ASCA players. We commend the moderators and scoring team for their outstanding performance, and we thank the worthy competitors for their good sportsmanship. We extend a special congratulations to Suttree Delorge from Alma Bryant High School and Matthew Bishop of T.R. Miller High School for placing first on their respective divisions' All-State Teams. Congratulations also to Hoover High School which defeated Vestavia Hills High School to become our Division I state championship team, to T.R. Miller which defeated Good Hope High School to become our Division II state championship team, and to our class champions, The Altamont School, T.R. Miller High School, Good Hope High School, Southside High School, and Hoover High School. Best wishes to all seniors as they prepare to leave high school behind, and best wishes to our state champions as they go to represent Alabama at national tournaments.
